Altosinger’z Hubby Preparez fur Sir Jury

Dis b arribing in mai emayoz frum Altosinger (Janey):

Tomorrow is Scott’s pre-op for the latest round of tumor removal. The surgery date is the 25th–we would have liked a few more days after the show to catch up with ourselves, but the sooner we deal with this, the better. I have the distinct impression that the second piece of footwear is about to make loud contact with the walking surface—or, as one of my on-line friends put it, the midden is about to hit the windmill. Over the last several weeks, every time i’ve gone to Bible Study Fellowship, our lecturer has said nearly every week, “Nothing is too difficult for GOD.” Now, as we all know, this is true, but i’ve got warning bells going off here. It is a great temptation to get myself tied up in knots. Your prayers for my state of mind would be MOST appreciated–as well as your prayers for Scott’s state of body and mind, and for the doctors and for good news. That would make a VERY nice change. GOD is still GOD, He is still in charge, and He is still worthy of all of our praise, and i will praise Him regardless–but i would like a breather, here.

Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement.
All my love—janey

  1. Sending prayers your way and seeing God holding you and Scott in the palms of his hands.

  2. Janey- First, we are not acquainted; pleased to meet you. I tried to “friend” you in ICHC but cannot find you.

Before I moved to another state, I used to belong to a wonderful support group. We would often acknowledge that our various troubles were intended by God to be used as growth experiences. Our frequent wish was “please, God, no more GROWTH for just a little while?” So for you and Scott, I pray, Heavenly Father, please just let them rest a little while before you grow them any more. Amen.

    Love, Linda

    • I never post in ICHC anymore–i find all the added stuff to be a little confusing, and with the two of us sharing the lappytop, i don’t get as much screen-time as i’d like! Your post reminded me that i did ask for Him to make me more like Him—this is a “yes” answer, but i do wish there were a gentler way to get rid of the ickies! *chuckle* Well, praise the LORD anyway–He is in control. Thank you, Linda! Gladta meetcha!

  3. “All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.”
    –Julian of Norwich

My prayer is that the knowledge of this truth will fully inhabit your heart.

    • one of the principles from BSF last night:
“GOD’s ways are not our ways, but they are always right.” Sometimes i wish i had a CD of some of the hymns we sing there, too, like “Trust and Obey.”
Thank you, darling. This does help.

  4. Especially what Sneezeecat said — this is one of my favorite quotations.
Janey and Scott: you’re in my prayers and thoughts and here’s to less growth. Of any kind.
    XOXO

And carry them in His bosom,
And gently lead those who are with young,
    And gently lead,
And gently lead those who are with young.

Come unto Him, all ye that labor,
And are heavy laden, and He shall give you rest,
    Shall give you rest.
    Take His yoke upon you, and learn of Him;
For He is meek and lowly of heart,
    And ye shall find rest,
And ye shall find rest, unto your souls.

    • You know, i could just hear that in my head! That is one of my many favorites from The Messiah. Thank you SO much!

  6. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
abides under the shadow of the Almighty…

…You shall not be afraid of any terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day…

…Because you have made the Lord your refuge,
and the Most High your habitation,

There shall no evil happen to you,
neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over you,
to keep you in all your ways.”

Waiting is so hard. Many hugs and prayers to you and Scott.

    • One of my favorite Psalms–which reminds me of Psalm 46: GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble! Thank you, dear heart.

  7. Dearest Janey, I am beaming for you both just as hard as I can. I am not able to come visit with y’all as much as I would like, but you are still near and dear to me and held closely in my heart.

    • Oh, Dayle, dear, i know you are busy chaing your tail and hardly have a minute to breathe. (If you catch that tail, make sure you take a picture!) Thank you, dearest. You are dear to me, too.
      Love you bunches! –janey

  8. Oh, my dear friends.
    *blinks hard*
    That didn’t help much.

Thank you SO much. I know that i am never alone—GOD promised, and His Word is as good as He is!–but sometimes, as an old friend used to say, GOD needs a face. Or at least an e-mail! I slept quite well last night, and so did Scott–i know your prayers made that difference. GOD bless you all exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think!
Love you all bunches! —janey (altosinger)

    • From one Dutch girl (maiden name DeWitt!) to another—thank you.
(the foreign langauge teacher in my kids’ Ohai school was Holland Dutch, and had a bumper sticker: “You can always tell a Durtchman, but you can’t tell him much!)

  9. Prayers for a good outcome & calm to replace fretting, may God guide the surgeons hand, may there be a good outcome & an easy recovery, may janey & scott have white circles of light around them for protection, guidance & calmness, this I pray this day.
