I am so very sorry to tell you that we have lost a friend. Carol is gone. I was called to her apartment this afternoon and held off posting till family could be notified. I have Pyewacket with me. Never have I met a person with more passion, with a greater commitment for justice, with more concern about the world and who lived and acted on her beliefs, always to the best of her ability. She loved her friends, she loved her kittehs. She was a fighter and she overcame many personal adversities and struggled with grave health issues in her life. I’m comforted by the thought that she is at peace and joyfully frolicking with her fur babies in the meadow. Love to all.

It is so hard to lose a friend even when they were suffering. Now she is not and can play all day with her furrbabies. Sending you beems and hugs
Losing KCT is a hard thing. She was so daring, a fighter in the best sense, facing adversities for so long, and always concerned about others. What a loss to Cheezland. We’ve lost a friend and champion, but the Meadow has gained one. It all evens out. So to speak. 😦
KCT is with her Savior..i am so glad for her. I have not been posting of late—i don’t get many Cryer posts these days—but know that my heart is with all of you. I just re-read all the comments after Scott’s death, and KCT’s was one of them, as well. It is 5 1/2 years now, and 1 1/2 years since i have remarried—and all of the Cheezfrenz’ prayers have come true for me. I pray that God’s peace and comfort will be with her family and that they will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my dear sister is free and joyful and merry in Heaven!
I’m so sorry to hear this, but as others have said, I’m glad that her suffering is done. As much as she loved kittehs, I’m sure she’s in teh Meadow with all teh kittehs who have gone ahead, including my beloved Miss Bonny…..
I sent KCT cards during several of her hospitalizations. I didn’t know her outside of Cheezland, but that makes no difference to me; I felt like I knew her IRL.
Thanks for letting us know. I hazza sad for the cheezfrenz, but a happi she is not suffering anymore.
A memorial service for Carol is set for Sat. Oct. 14, 2017 at the Tall Oaks Conference Center outdoor chapel in Linwood, Ks. near the garden where her ashes will be spread. It’s a rustic but lovely setting, a retreat associated with the church which Carol and her mom attended. We found the ashes from her heart kitteh Inky and will include those, too.
The following obituary will be in the paper Sunday:
Carol Lee Habig passed away September 13, 2017 at her home. A casual service will be held at Tall Oaks Conference Center, 12778 189th St, Linwood, KS at 2:00 PM Saturday October 14, 2017. In lieu of flowers a donation to Great Plains SPCA or Spay Neuter Clinic of KC is suggested.
I have her dear cat Pyewacket with me and will give her a loving home. Carol’s cats received wonderful low cost veterinary care from the two organizations listed above. I can’t add a single thing to what cweenmj said. KCT was a great inspiration for me and many other peeps. She was such a fun and kind cheezpeep. We all miss her so much.
